Sending Money to U.S. Citizens Overseas via OCS

The Department of State's Office of Overseas Citizens Services (OCS), has the authority to establish a trust in the name of US citizens who need funds when they get into any emergency financial situation when they are overseas. The office charges a $30 non-refundable processing fee. When funds are received, the OCS will transfer them to the US Embassy or Consulate from where they can be disbursed to the recipient. The recipient has to contact the embassy personally in order to receive the funds. To ensure quick processing the recipient's name and location must be clear with the funds. Funds disbursed are usually in the local currency based on the location of the citizen, not is US dollars.

OCS (Overseas Citizens Services) can also be made via Western Union see Western Union OCS.
